Well there is a simple equation at play here: chaps that spend a little time and effort producing maps and political assessment to inform novice pilots of the realities of 0.0 space travel = positive impact on the community of pilots.
Whereas, chaps that simply knock everything and post unhelpful negative comments with knee jerk repetitive monotones = waste of everyone's time.
If the PA (or any other reactionary mineral cartel-based alliance) don't like DP Mephisto's map then you could either do as he suggests and bring some debate and facts to support your point of view or:
(and here's a crazy thought)
You could present your own map!

Originally by: Koval ok, remove your claims to branch/tenal and mark tenal, branch, deklein, fade as warzone with pa, this war is not over yet and u can't change it everytime when there is a movement. We killed 6 SOL battleships in tenal since yesterday with no losses, and we keep it under control atm. You are the side in this conflict, so it's simple u wanna use your work against PA, but if u want this thread clean, be professional.
Umm but Halseth annouced you were dropping your claims to Branch and Tenal. Are you breaking your leaders word by sneak attacking into Tenal after Halseth proclaimed you were surrendering that region? Thats a bit low even for the PA!

Originally by: Koval i remember he announced we're pulling back from bkg to attack fade and deklein, it has nothing to do with dropping claims
Yes Koval, but routed military leaders always announce retreats in such terms. "We concentrate on other fronts!" "Now is the time to consolidate at home" "This theatre is no longer a priority" etc etc, its just coded language for "we were wtfpwned and need to safespot in strategic terms".
Everyone knows that Koval, the art of political analysis (and mapmaking) is reading between the lines and interpreting what the leaders "mean" (not simply rote-copying down what they say).
Halseth has a job to do at this twilight time for the Pheonix Alliance and it involves selling his own people a diet of pleasing lies while preparing the ground for some kind of universal pullout/surrender. In order to get the best terms possible he feels he must present the PA as some kind of military threat hence talking up the capabilities and potentials of your fleet is his stock in trade.
I don't neccessarily condemn the chap for that (it is after the function of his position) but you would be foolish to believe it all at face value.

enemy leaders always call it like that in their propaganda 8) it doesn't make it true
Alas what a tangled web we weave, but I hope you take the point? It doesn't make the map-maker's task any easier.

Originally by: SirMolle So, what systems is it you are claiming to be under your control? And make sure to backup your statement please.
isn't that a control if we're flying where we want and do what we want in tenal unharmed while your puppies loose ships or sit in safespots ? I believe you will send some reinforcements so it's warzone, u can dream about these claims.
I think technically to control a region you need to be in possession of the capturable stations and able to conduct economic activities with a reasonable level of security.
Simply flying around in a ganksquad and picking on loners is a valid guerilla-warfare tactic but shouldn't be confused with territorial control.
